Its a beautiful little town, with dare I say a big city attitude. So many talented people that live in the area, inspiration every which way you turn, but yet I still feel like I don't belong here. There are some wonderful supportive customers that come out and lend a hand for us without even asking sometimes. So why is it that I allow negative moments to ruin my day?
Every Sunday down in the parking lot the Pier Street market is held, and every Sunday rain, snow, or 40 above weather, I do a blowing demo. I love sharing glass with others, its something I miss watching and its nice to share with those interested. You take it personal tho when you've spent a half hour working on a piece that turned out pretty sweet, and a crowd of people just stare at you like you just tied your shoe. No big deal. Instead of a tip, they throw garbage in your bowl. Am I wrong in thinking that a glass blowing demo isn't entertaining?
I'm not going to give up on Campbell River just yet, I will keep insisting that glass is by far the coolest material out there to work with, and that my job is by far the best in the world. And soon, everyone will agree with me!
