Show and tell...

Although I call myself a glass blower I haven't been spending nearly enough time in the hot shop.  Why? I was looking around my parents house one day, and thinking man if I had a home it would decorated to the nines with stuff.  They have nothing.  No family pictures, not a stitch of glass.  So I told them what I thought and asked if I could "Tonify" it.  Spruce things up a bit.  Make it homey.  A home, a 3-d portrait of what you represent.  After sharing some ideas, drawings and toning down some of my ideas... baby steps with the old man.  He doesn't adapt well to change.  I changed their dining room into a den, moved the table out, it was never used to eat at just collect the papers and mail and moved a small couch in and hung a small tv on the wall.  So cozy.
The Johnson family aren't real curtain or blinds people but the windows needed something.  So with my Ah Huh moment I designed these windows.  And made them.  And well made my mother help me.
Although the windows are installed, my father is going to make oak frames for them when he finds the time.  Ill keep you updated on what I do next to the rest of the house.

Elizabeth Kubler Ross Quote

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
