A thought filled day...
Its Monday today, the ocean is cranky, the wind is crazy, and the rain feels cold on your face when you walk outside. The weather has such influence on a persons mood. I'm not saying I'm cranky today, nope, not at all. Just thinking. Today is the kind of day for ideas, sketches, research. Hot tea, sweat pants and slippers.
On Saturday, I took a Toni day in the hotshop. I told my dad who was assisting me at the time I was not going to blow one ball, ruffle bowl or make a paper weight. No way, no how. I was feeling creative. We experimented. And for the first time since I was at school I felt no guilt in taking one of these days to myself to see what would happen, and the results were rewarding. Sunday morning when I opened the annealer door, I was happy. I was back. I took some pictures to share with you... I had no expectations, and when you sit down at the bench with none... theres never any disappointment. I think I might have figured out a way to take my 'Flashing' pieces to the next level. Or perhaps a new series altogether. Enjoy your Monday!

Sand makes everything all better
I love glass there is no doubt about that and its funny because the first time I sandcasted I didnt like it. I didnt like the sticky sand on my hands. I had sand everywhere. In my shoes, in my pant pockets... and I thought who would love this!?
Well. I do. I love the texture that can only be achieved with sand. During my interwebing surf I came across this peice... thought Id share with you.

Its time to ASK VICKI!!!
Technical Questions, future predictions, upcoming trends, what you lucky number is? she has an answer.
You can use the comment section to ask your questions.
Mrs. Vicki was not entirely forthcoming about having her photo taken as a fortune teller so we had to improvise.
