December 15, 2010

Whats with the title? My brain is tired and creative thinking is just not what it use to be! I am busy, we are busy and its a great feeling.  I have so many ideas sketched out and so pumped to jump into them just in time to turn the furnace off for the year.  Boo!

Tide Line II aka the hotshop where we blow glass and sandcast is officially closed until further notice.  Although it makes me sad, its a great time to fix all the things that made the "when I have time" list.  I plan on cleaning up the colors, perhaps even take inventory and put together my wish list for the summer months.  Dust.  Oh the dust... AND just maybe I might take a couple days off.

The kilns, torches, coldworking shop, and table space is still available for time.  Don't fret!

Now is the time to request classes, if there is anything inparticular that you would like to learn by all means let me know.  Just shoot me an email, come in and chat about it.  We are here to help!

AND this will not be advertised anywhere but on this blog and the facebook fan page so read carefully... this is for your eyes only!
TLG is putting on a sale.  All glass and supplies are 30% off.  All .925 silver jewellery is up to 75% off.  There is a stocking stuffer table with variety to choose from... buy 1 get one half price.  This sale ends in one week!

One more thing: The "Flashing" draw is December 19, so get down here and get your name in the FREE draw!

Happy holidays all!

'Tis the season for the tired, the grinches, and the scowls!

Campbell River doesn't know how lucky they are to have such a dedicated art community as we do.  The lack of appreciation of handmade things was uncanning last Sunday at the Pier Street Market located here at the Heritage Centre.  Support your locals, buying handmade seems to be a distant thought to some of the people I ran into.  I was excited to hear today that we as a community filled the big truck of food for the shelters, which proves that spirit does exist in this town!
Tide Line recently visited the north island, and the town banned together to support each other.  The south end of the island appreciated the handmade, making special trips up to Campbell River seeking out more, wanting to know the process, and have a peak of whats to come for the summer season.
We are a community.  A community made up of many people, culture and things to offer.  Why not celebrate each other? Support one another.  And smile for gosh sakes!

So thank you to those who support their neighbor, are proud of the town they live in, and can see the glass as half full rather than half empty.
